Photography Documentation and Training Center celebrates photography

The Photography Documentation and Training Center (CDFF), in partnership with the School of Communication and Arts at Eduardo Mondlane University (UEM), celebrates World Photography Day, with a diverse program, under the motto "Mozambican photography: 50 years of transforming gaze".

On August 18th and 19th, the anniversary comes to life through debates, exhibitions, creative workshops, gastronomy and crafts fairs, reflecting the evolution and diversity of the image in Mozambique.

On the first day, the School of Communication and Arts at UEM welcomes professionals, academics and students for an enriching debate about the path and challenges of national photography and a photographic exhibition portraying the 50 years of National Independence.

On the second day, CDFF opens its doors to the public with a cultural immersion, where art intertwines with Mozambican identity.

This initiative not only honors half a century of visual records, but also reinforces the role of photography as a mirror of society, capable of capturing changes, telling stories and uniting the community. Between lights, shadows and transforming gazes, the event invites everyone to celebrate the strength of an art that, more than eternalizing moments, builds collective memories.
