Ingredients

Beef (half a kilo or to taste), cut into pieces

Dry raw peanuts (pounded or ground) - about 200 to 500 g

Onion - 1 or 2 units, sliced

Tomato - fresh or in pulp, 2 medium units

Garlic - to taste, finely chopped

Salt - to taste

Coconut milk - optional, to give more creaminess

Hot water - to extract the peanut milk

Oil or olive oil - optional, for sautéing

Chili pepper or piri-piri - optional, for those who like it spicy
Method

Step 1
Prepare the peanut milk

Place the pounded peanuts in a bowl with hot water.

Mix well and strain to extract the peanut milk.

Reserve this thick and aromatic liquid.

Step 2
Cook the beef

In a pot, place the beef pieces with salt and chopped onion.

Let it cook until the meat is tender and starts to release sauce.

Add the chopped tomatoes and a little hot water.

Cook for about 30 minutes.

Prepare the sauce

In another pot, bring the peanut milk and coconut milk (if using) to heat.

Stir well until it starts to boil.

Combine everything

Add the cooked beef to the peanut sauce.

Add chopped garlic, chili pepper (if you want it spicy) and adjust the salt.

Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens and the flavors integrate.

The curry will be ready when it is thick and aromatic.
